In Octobert the SEQA department welcomed comics scholar and cartoonist Dave Kellett, creator of the popular webcomics Sheldon and Drive, as well as the co-author of How To Make Webcomics.
Kellett visited several classes over a few days and also gave a fantastic talk about webcomics. Here are some pics:

During October we were visited by artist Eric Canete. A fantastic illustrator, designer, and storyteller who has worked in the animation and comic book industry. He has worked on comic books like Cybernary 2.0, Iron Man, Comic Book Tattoo, and animation projects such as Aeon Flux, The Batman, Justice League Unlimited, and Ben10.
We had his talk upstairs at the Pirates House because it’s so close to our building. Here are a few pics:

Each Fall the Foundations Department organizes an Arts Material Trade Show which brings in a huge number of exhibitors and material demonstrations. Many of the exhibitors bring along industry artists to demonstrate the materials. The Sequential Art department is always looking to take advantage of a visiting artist. (Willing to talk to a class? We’ll probably buy you lunch!). This year Strathmore Papers brought along cartoonist, illustrator, and storyboard artist Tommy Castillo. Check out these pics from one of his class visits!
