Hand Lettering with Mad Rupert

Posted on 26 January 2015 by Paige Cambern

Mad Rupert is the creator of Sakana (sakana.smackjeeves.com), a hand-lettered webcomic about workers in a fish market. She has also worked on several comic adaptations of popular Cartoon Network and Frederator properties (Adventure Time, Regular Show, Bee And Puppycat, etc.)

Hand lettering is reemerging as a professional skill in demand, and adds more individuality to original comic projects. Come learn the difference between handwriting and hand lettering, the concepts behind image-text interdependence, and how to use word balloons to reinforce character dialogue!

Mad Rupert will be giving a talk at 2PM this Friday in room 115
