Have you ever wanted to use your sequential art skills to work in animation, video games, television, or film? Are you intrigued by the idea of seeing your comics brought to life as a movie? Come to the Storyboard Workshop in Hayman’s Hall, Room 111 on Friday, January 15th at 1:00PM, and learn about the principles of good storyboard layout, how to use Photoshop Layer Comps to quickly and efficiently draw your storyboard panels, and how to present and organize a storyboard portfolio! SEQA Grad student Sarah “Shinji” Myer will help you get started on your storyboard career goals. You are welcome to draw and take notes during the workshop- tablet pens for use on the cintiqs are encouraged so you can follow along!

Comics Art Forum, February 4 and 5, 2016, will feature guest artists and writers artists Brooke Allen, Donny Cates, Terry Dodson, Ben Templesmith, and Babs Tarr. This CAF will feature a longer, new and improved, panel discussion with relevant questions about the comics aesthetic being addressed. On Friday there will be an exciting story “draw off” in Haymans Hall between the guest artists to conclude the event. CAF will also feature class visits, portfolio reviews, and workshops on Thursday and Friday, February 4 and 5. More information on how to register for workshops and portfolio reviews will be up soon. Plan to attend!
