HEEEEYYYY. This is an awesome topic to be discussing on the Podcast. I’m so exciting about what you guys have been discussing each podcast. Movies to add to the list for listeners to check out:

The Cleaner, directed by Renny Harlin; starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ed Harris(great film to study for how the characters develop)

Seraphim Falls, directed by David Von Ancken; starring Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan(character film and how to utilize an environment as a character)

Payback, directed by Brian Helgeland; starring Mel Gibson, Gregg Henry, Maria Bello (the story is driven by the main character’s obsession with an ideal: “the principle of the matter”

Fay Grim, directed by Hal Hartley; starring Parker Posey and Jeff Goldblum (shots are composed at a canted angle as if to enhance the idea that you’re watching the movie with your head cocked to the side)

Another source for character development is watching TV shows: Rosanne, Cheers, Due South, Married with Children, Friends: all of these demonstrate how the character develop and change over time and/or show the group dynamic.
