On today’s show the SEQALAB crew talk to Paul Karasik. Karasik was Associate Editor of Art Spiegelman’s avant garde international comics and graphics review, RAW.  In collaboration with artist David Mazzucchelli, he adapted Paul Auster’s novel City of Glass as a graphic novel.  Their work has been translated into French, Italian, German, Japanese, and Spanish, and was named one of the best 100 comics of the century by The Comics Journal. Karasik’s cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker and Nickelodeon magazines.  Together with his sister Judy Karasik, he created the autobiographical comic The Ride Together. Most recently Karasik served as the editor of volume of restored works by the obscure golden-age comics genius Fletcher Hanks entitled I Shall Destroy All the Civilized Planets for Fantagraphics as well as contributing a comics Afterword that solves the true-life mystery: “Whatever Happened To Fletcher Hanks?”
