Join us on  Wednesday, April 2 as the sequential art department welcomes Kathie Turner, Ph.D., for a presentation on Women in Comics.  The event starts at 6 p.m. at the Student Center (120 Montgomery St., Savannah).

Kathie Turner is a professor of communication studies and director of oral communication at Davidson College. A rhetorical analyst,  Turner studies communication as a process of social influence, particularly in the areas of media, politics, popular culture and women’s issues. Her publications include a monograph on mass media and popular culture and articles on the future of rhetorical studies, presidential libraries, comic strips, and the history of product placement. An ongoing project is a book-length study of the images of women in comic strips.

    Hello Kathie,

Larry Phillips (formerly of New Orleans (LAVAC)) I was looking Ray up and found that he had retired. Carol and I are now living in Jamestown (after the storm). Going through my old LAVAC tapes, I surfaced fond memories (the Chinese restaurant after rehearsal). Please, if you get the tine, email me and let me know what is happening at Sprague’s @ Turner’s.

Hoping to hear from you soon.
    Larry Phillips
